This is a brief description of the service ...

We specialise in quick turn around prototyping of production quality parts. This means we tool up and create a single cavity to produce a part in the production material. Fed in the same place as a production part. This also means an unlimited number of components can be moulded. We try to compress the lead time as much as possible using a "library" of standard mould components, and the recycling of parts like hot tips etc. This in turn also reduces the costs. On some parts we have developed concurrently with designers the costs have been cheaper overall than other prototyping methods, such as stereo lithography, but giving the advantages of having production quality parts in abundant supply.

The sort of pre manufactured standard bolster set that reduces lead time and cost. Just add Inserts and ejection!

With our high speed machine and advanced work holding systems lead times on cavity and core inserts is dramatically reduced without affecting accuracy. We machine accurately straight from the electronic data, either directly into steel or cut spark erosion electrodes, reducing fitting and assembly operations whenever possible.

This type of prototyping has proved useful to many of our customers who need to prove their components in a number of materials, or need to prove  production assembly lines before creating expensive multi impression tools. The ability to prove the part is also essential before being able to source tooling and production anywhere in the world. This is especially important when considering  the intellectual rights of design. With modern 3D CAD systems parts can be transferred across the globe, but to take advantage of this, data must be proved and controlled.
